We aim to answer any email about your membership within 5 working days.

In these Terms & Conditions, “She Starts Over”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the trader named above. “You” and “your” mean the member. “Heartbeat” means the third-party community platform at heartbeat.chat on which the community is hosted.

2. What these terms cover

These Terms & Conditions apply to your membership of She Starts Over and to every contract you enter into with us for that membership. They are made available to you before you join, in a form you can save and read later, and you accept them when you join.

Two other documents are provided alongside these Terms & Conditions, but they are not part of the agreement:

If any part of these Terms & Conditions conflicts with a mandatory rule of consumer law that applies to you, that rule takes priority and the rest of these terms continue to apply.

3. Who can join

You can join She Starts Over if you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.

Membership is personal to you. You may not share your login, transfer your membership to someone else, or give another person access to the community through your account.

We may decline or end an application at our discretion, for example where the community is closed to new members or where we do not believe the community is a good fit. If we decline your application, we will not charge you.

4. What your membership includes

She Starts Over is a membership community designed to provide connection, encouragement, reflection and practical support for women building their own businesses.

Depending on your membership and the current community offering, your membership may include:

The exact sessions, activities and resources available may change over time. We may update the community offering to improve the member experience, while taking reasonable care not to remove the main purpose of your membership. Where a change would significantly reduce what your membership gives you, we will tell you in advance, and you may end your membership free of charge within 30 days after we tell you or, if later, after the change takes effect.

Membership does not guarantee access to any particular guest speaker, event, member, business opportunity, result or number of sessions.

Some events, such as in-person gatherings and ticketed meet-ups, are paid for separately and are not included in the membership fee. Where that is the case, we will say so clearly before you book.

5. Membership prices and VAT

The She Starts Over membership is offered on a recurring monthly basis.

The founding membership costs EUR 29 per month for your first six months, then EUR 59 per month.

The founding price is available to eligible founding members, as communicated to them when they join. From your seventh month your membership continues at EUR 59 per month, and we will remind you by email before that change takes effect.

We may open other membership types in the future. The price of any membership is shown to you before you join, and it applies to you only if you agree to it when you join.

All prices are stated in euros and include VAT. The total price you will pay, and how often you will pay it, are shown to you before you confirm your purchase. There are no hidden costs, joining fees or exit fees.

Any different price, promotion or arrangement confirmed to you in writing will apply to your membership.

6. Payment

Membership fees are charged on a recurring monthly basis using the payment method connected to your membership. Payments are processed through Heartbeat and its payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.

Your first payment is taken when you join. Each following payment is taken on the same day of the month, or on the nearest available day in shorter months.

You are responsible for making sure that your payment details are accurate and up to date.

If a scheduled membership payment fails, we may:

Your access is restored as soon as the payment goes through.

You will receive a payment receipt from our payment provider. If you need an invoice, for example showing your business’s VAT details, email us and we will send one.

7. Membership period and cancellation

Your membership starts on the date your first payment is successfully completed, or on another start date confirmed to you in writing.

Your membership runs from month to month. There is no minimum membership period and no lock-in.

You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops all future payments. You keep access to She Starts Over until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your access ends at that point.

To cancel your membership through Heartbeat:

  1. Hover over your profile in the top-right corner of the Heartbeat app;
  2. Select Account & Settings;
  3. Select Leave this Community;
  4. Follow the instructions to confirm your cancellation.

You can also cancel simply by emailing us at urte@shestartsover.com. We will confirm your cancellation by email.

Cancelling does not by itself entitle you to a refund of the current month or of any period you have already paid for, unless applicable law requires it, you are exercising the right of withdrawal in section 8, or we agree otherwise in writing.

If you have any difficulty cancelling through Heartbeat, email us and we will process the cancellation for you.

8. Your right of withdrawal within 14 days

This section applies if you are a consumer, which means you are acting mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession. If you join clearly in the course of your business, the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to you, although the ordinary cancellation right in section 7 still does.

8.1 The right

You have the right to withdraw from your membership contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period ends 14 days after the day the contract is concluded.

8.2 How to withdraw

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must tell us clearly that you have decided to withdraw. You can do this in any of these ways:

You never lose your refund by choosing the wrong route. Any clear statement within the 14 days counts, and so does leaving the community.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is enough that you send your communication before the 14-day period has expired.

We will send you an acknowledgement of your withdrawal by email without delay, stating what you told us and the date and time we received it.

8.3 Access during the withdrawal period

You can use the community from the moment you join. If you withdraw within the 14 days, we refund all your payments in full. We do not deduct anything for the days you had access.

8.4 Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of the day we are informed of your decision. We will use the same means of payment you used, and you will not be charged any fee for the reimbursement.

Your access to the community ends on the day you withdraw.

9. Changes to membership fees

We may change the monthly price of your membership in the future. For a founding member, this can only happen after the founding period has ended and the price has moved to EUR 59.

We will tell you by email at least one month before a change takes effect, and we will state the new price and the date it starts. You may cancel before the new price applies, and if you do, the new price will never be charged to you.

The move from the founding price to EUR 59 after your first six months is not a price change under this section. It is part of the price you agreed when you joined, set out in section 5.

10. Community participation

She Starts Over is built around mutual respect, openness and shared support.

By joining, you agree to:

You remain responsible for anything you post, share, recommend or communicate inside the community.

Our separate Community Guidelines, shared in the community’s Start Here area, describe these expectations in more detail. They are guidance and are not part of this agreement. The commitments you make are the ones listed above.

11. Confidentiality

Members may share personal experiences, business information, challenges, ideas and other sensitive information inside the community.

You agree to treat information shared by other members as confidential unless:

You must not copy, publish, forward, sell or otherwise distribute another member’s personal story, business information, screenshots, recordings or messages without their permission.

Confidentiality does not mean that we can guarantee complete privacy. Online communities involve risks, and members are responsible for making thoughtful decisions about what they choose to share.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data.

12. Events and recordings

Some She Starts Over sessions may be recorded, for example to create a summary, to review the session, or to make selected content available to members who could not attend.

We will tell you clearly before a session begins if it is being recorded, and we will ask for your consent where consent is required. If you would prefer not to be recorded, tell us before the session starts and we will explain what alternatives are available, such as keeping your camera and microphone off.

You must not record, screenshot, photograph or redistribute a session or another member’s contribution without permission.

We may take photographs or video at in-person events. Where we intend to use them publicly, for example on the website or social media, we will give notice at the event and rely on your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us, and we will stop using the material going forward.

13. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you create and share, including posts, comments, written materials, business ideas, photos, videos, templates and other original contributions.

By sharing content inside She Starts Over, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, display and share that content within the community, for as long as needed to operate, administer and improve She Starts Over. This permission ends when your content is removed, except where we must keep a copy to meet a legal obligation.

We will not sell your original content, and we will not use your personal story or your name for external marketing without asking you first.

You are responsible for making sure that anything you share:

We may remove content that breaches these terms.

14. Our intellectual property

All She Starts Over branding, logos, original materials, resources, session formats, written content and other materials created by us remain our property or are used with permission.

Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use community materials for your own personal and business development, for as long as your membership lasts.

Unless we give you written permission, you may not:

15. No guarantees, and not professional advice

She Starts Over provides community support, education, discussion and opportunities for connection.

We do not promise or guarantee a specific business result, a specific income level, new clients or sales, business growth, increased visibility, a successful launch, or a particular level of confidence, clarity or wellbeing.

Any advice, ideas, recommendations or experiences shared by us or by other members are provided for general information only. They are not legal, tax, financial, medical or mental-health advice, and they are not a substitute for professional support.

You are responsible for deciding whether and how to apply any information to your own circumstances, and you should seek qualified professional advice where appropriate.

16. Member relationships and external opportunities

She Starts Over may introduce members to one another or create opportunities for collaboration.

We do not guarantee the conduct, quality, reliability, availability or suitability of any member, guest, service provider, collaboration or business opportunity.

Any agreement or transaction between members is made at your own discretion and risk. She Starts Over is not a party to private agreements between members unless we say so expressly in writing.

17. Suspension and removal

We may suspend or end your access to She Starts Over if we reasonably believe that you have:

Where it is appropriate, we will contact you first to discuss the issue and give you a chance to put it right. We may restrict or remove access immediately where that is necessary to protect members, their privacy or the community.

If we end your membership because of a serious breach by you, we will not refund the remainder of the period you have paid for.

If we end your membership for any other reason, including because we decide to close the community, we will refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.

You may also end your membership immediately, and receive a refund of the unused part of the period you have paid for, if we seriously breach these terms and do not put it right within a reasonable time after you tell us.

18. Availability and technical issues

We aim to keep She Starts Over available and working smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Access may occasionally be affected by maintenance, technical issues, Heartbeat outages, internet or payment-provider problems, or events outside our reasonable control.

Heartbeat is a third-party platform. Your use of Heartbeat is also subject to Heartbeat’s own terms and policies, which are separate from these terms.

We are not responsible for technical failures caused by third-party platforms, although we will make reasonable efforts to help resolve access issues. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights if the service is not provided as agreed.

19. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under Dutch law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

20. Complaints

If something is wrong, tell us. Email urte@shestartsover.com with a description of the problem.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and give you a substantive response within 14 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why and when you can expect an answer.

Complaints are treated confidentially and are not a reason for us to disadvantage you in any way.

21. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to the community, to our business, or to legal requirements.

If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will tell you at least one month in advance by email, and you may cancel before the change takes effect. Minor changes, such as correcting a typing error or updating our contact details, take effect immediately.

The current version is always available on our website and in the community. Each version carries a date, so you can see what has changed and when.

22. General

Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if the business is sold. We will tell you in advance, and if you are unhappy about the transfer you may cancel and receive a refund of the unused part of the period you have paid for. You may not transfer your membership to anyone else.

Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

No waiver. If we do not insist that you do something you are required to do, or if we delay in taking action, that does not mean we have given up our rights.

Language. These terms are written in English, and English is the language of the contract between us.

23. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live, and that protection is not taken away by this section.

We would always rather resolve a problem by talking, so please use the complaints procedure in section 20 first.

If a dispute cannot be resolved, it may be brought before the competent Dutch court. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the EU country where you live, and we will only bring proceedings against you in the courts of the country where you live.
