Community Guidelines
How we treat one another inside She Starts Over
Version 1.3 · Last updated 8 October 2026
1. What we are building together
The strongest businesses aren’t built by founders who do everything themselves. They’re built by founders who know when and how to ask for help, lean on others, and surround themselves with the right people.
She Starts Over is a space to build ambitious businesses with the support, perspective and community that make the journey more sustainable, while creating businesses that genuinely fit the lives we want to live.
2. Build intentionally
Build a business that reflects what matters to you, and give yourself permission to adapt, iterate or change direction when it no longer does.
This is about regularly checking in with where you’re going, why you’re building it and whether it still feels right for you. Your business can evolve as you do.
We believe a successful business should support the life you want to create.
That means we make space for different definitions of success.
Inside She Starts Over, you are welcome to:
- Build at your own pace;
- Change your mind;
- Choose a different path;
- Prioritise your well-being;
- Ask whether a strategy actually fits your life;
- Celebrate progress that may not look impressive from the outside;
- Define success on your own terms.
You do not need to follow someone else’s version of entrepreneurship to belong here.
3. Build together
We don’t have to figure everything out alone. We share ideas, perspectives, knowledge, support and opportunities, and we lean on each other when we need another perspective or a helping hand.
We encourage members to share:
- Ideas;
- Questions;
- Resources;
- Lessons learned;
- Helpful introductions;
- Opportunities;
- Encouragement;
- Honest experiences;
- Different perspectives.
You do not need to have all the answers before contributing. Sometimes asking a thoughtful question is just as valuable as giving advice.
When offering support, consider asking:
Not every challenge needs to be solved immediately.
4. Protect your well-being
Protect the boundaries, energy and relationships that allow you to build sustainably. Growth shouldn’t require you to constantly override your own needs or sacrifice the life you’re building your business for.
We are building businesses we can actually live with.
That means we do not glorify:
- Burnout;
- Constant availability;
- Working every evening and weekend;
- Comparing revenue or growth;
- Overworking as proof of commitment;
- Ignoring personal boundaries;
- Treating exhaustion as a badge of honour.
You are allowed to take breaks, have a quiet week, protect your energy and say no.
We can be ambitious while still being human.
5. How we want the community to feel
Supportive, honest and useful.
When someone brings a challenge, we agreed to:
- Ask questions before giving advice: understand the situation first.
- Share from experience: “Here’s what worked for me” rather than presenting our perspective as the one right answer.
- Be kind and honest: challenge each other when it could genuinely help.
- Don’t leave someone hanging: if a member asks a question, respond if you can.
- Lead with genuine support: we’re here to help each other move forward, not to prove who knows best.
6. Ask before advising
Advice can be helpful, but unsolicited advice can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Before offering feedback, consider asking:
- “Would you like a few ideas?”
- “Can I share what worked for me?”
- “Would it be helpful to look at this together?”
- “Do you want support or solutions right now?”
Remember that your experience may be useful without being universally applicable.
Use language such as:
- “What worked for me was…”
- “One possibility could be…”
- “I wonder whether…”
- “You might consider…”
rather than:
- “You need to…”
- “The only way is…”
- “You are doing it wrong…”
7. Respect confidentiality
What is shared inside She Starts Over should be treated with care.
Please do not:
- Share screenshots of private conversations;
- Repeat another member’s personal story outside the community;
- Share someone’s business idea without permission;
- Forward private messages;
- Record sessions without permission;
- Use another member’s vulnerability as content;
- Discuss a member publicly without their consent.
If you want to share something someone else said, ask them first.
A simple rule:
8. Celebrate without comparison
There is room here for different stages of business.
Some members may have their first client. Others may have a full pipeline, a team or years of experience.
We celebrate:
- First steps;
- Small experiments;
- Difficult decisions;
- New clients;
- Better boundaries;
- Rest;
- Learning;
- Pivots;
- Courage;
- Progress that only you understand.
Please avoid turning the community into a competition around:
- Revenue;
- Followers;
- Clients;
- Visibility;
- Speed;
- Productivity;
- Business stage.
Someone else’s progress does not make yours less meaningful.
9. Respect different perspectives
Members may have different:
- Business models;
- Industries;
- Backgrounds;
- Personal circumstances;
- Financial situations;
- Levels of experience;
- Definitions of success;
- Ways of working.
You do not need to agree with everyone.
You do need to communicate respectfully and avoid:
- Discrimination;
- Harassment;
- Personal attacks;
- Sexism;
- Racism;
- Homophobia;
- Ableism;
- Religious intolerance;
- Humiliation;
- Threats;
- Deliberate exclusion.
If a conversation becomes tense, pause before responding. It is okay to disagree without making someone feel unwelcome.
10. Protect your own boundaries
You decide what you share and how involved you want to be.
You are never required to:
- Share personal information;
- Speak during a live session;
- Explain your absence;
- Accept advice;
- Participate in a collaboration;
- Share your revenue;
- Discuss your private life;
- Respond to messages immediately.
Please respect other members’ boundaries in the same way.
11. The Member Lounge
The Member Lounge is the space for everything that happens between our sessions: the conversations, questions, wins and little moments that make a community feel alive.
You can use it to share:
- 🎉 Wins & celebrations;
- 🤔 Challenges & things you’re stuck on;
- 💡 Lessons learned;
- 📚 Useful resources;
- 🌱 Personal milestones & life transitions;
- 💭 Thoughts and feelings around entrepreneurship;
- 🤖 AI & automation tools;
- 🤝 Opportunities to support one another.
Keeping the Lounge useful
We agreed that the main Lounge shouldn’t become a place for unsolicited selling or spam.
There will be dedicated spaces for collaborations & referrals and sales, so members have a place to share relevant opportunities while keeping the main Lounge focused on conversation, connection and support.
A rhythm, not another obligation
Rather than creating rigid Monday/Friday posting requirements, we’ll experiment with flexible windows:
- Sunday to Tuesday: share what you’re working towards or focusing on;
- Friday to Saturday: share what happened, what you learned, or what you’re taking forward.
The goal is to create a rhythm that helps us stay connected without turning the community into another task to keep up with.
Where things belong
Before posting, consider where your contribution belongs:
- Member Lounge: wins, challenges, lessons, resources, personal milestones, thoughts about entrepreneurship, AI and automation tools, and everyday conversation;
- Collaborations & referrals, and sales: relevant opportunities, offers and requests for support;
- Founding Members: ideas, feedback and suggestions for shaping the community;
- Start Here: important information, community agreements and key resources;
- Events or session threads: questions and follow-up related to a specific event.
You do not need to get the category perfect every time. The goal is simply to help conversations stay easy to find.
12. No unsolicited selling or aggressive promotion
She Starts Over is a community first.
You are welcome to talk about your business, share what you are working on and celebrate your offers. However, please avoid:
- Sending unsolicited sales messages;
- Repeatedly promoting your services;
- Pitching in response to someone’s vulnerable share;
- Adding members to email lists without permission;
- Sending unwanted direct messages;
- Using community conversations only as a way to find clients;
- Making members feel pressured to buy from you.
Before sharing an offer, ask yourself:
When in doubt, ask for permission first.
13. Share responsibly
When sharing resources, recommendations or advice:
- Be transparent about your experience;
- Avoid presenting personal opinions as facts;
- Mention relevant limitations;
- Do not make promises about guaranteed results;
- Respect copyright and ownership;
- Do not share private or confidential information;
- Encourage professional advice where a topic is specialised.
She Starts Over is not a substitute for legal, tax, financial, medical or mental-health support.
14. Our rhythm
Founder Sessions
Every other Wednesday at 4:00 PM CET.
Members are asked to:
- RSVP through Heartbeat;
- Give at least 24 hours’ notice if they can’t attend, where possible;
- Participate in conversations between sessions;
- Share honest feedback as we continue shaping the community;
- Help create a welcoming space for everyone.
15. Our founding commitment
As founding members, we’re not just joining a finished community.
We’re helping build it.
That means showing up, sharing honestly, contributing ideas, giving feedback and helping create the kind of community we would want to belong to.
The agreements above are a starting point, not something set in stone. As we experience the community together, we can continue to question, refine and evolve how we do things.
16. When something does not feel right
If you experience or witness something that goes against these guidelines, you can contact Urte privately at:
Email: Urte@shestartsover.com
You can also send a private message through Heartbeat.
You do not need to handle a difficult situation alone.
Depending on the situation, we may:
- Ask for more context;
- Speak privately with the people involved;
- Remove inappropriate content;
- Set boundaries;
- Pause a conversation;
- Restrict access;
- Remove a member from the community.
Our goal is to protect the well-being and trust of the community while handling concerns fairly and thoughtfully.
17. Our shared agreement
By participating in She Starts Over, we agree to help create a space where we can:
- Build intentionally;
- Build together;
- Protect your well-being;
- Be honest and kind;
- Learn without pretending to know everything;
- Celebrate without comparison;
- Respect privacy and boundaries;
- Make room for different paths;
- Grow together.
These guidelines are not about being perfect.
They are about being intentional in how we treat one another.
Most importantly, we’re here to build businesses that support the lives we want, and to have people around us who make the journey feel a little less lonely and a lot more human.
